LIMITED EDITION of 500 copies printed with linotype Caslon, Goudy Text and Lombardic Capitals and printed on Zerkall Rothenberg paper, Fabriano Vasari paper used for the wrappers, design and typography by Norman Forgue. Miniature Book. 2 5/8 x 2 inches. pp. The text is printed on a single sheet in black and red inks, the sheet is french-fold and stapled into stiff blue printed wrappers with black title on the front cover; text clean, unmarked, binding square and tight, minor shelf wear. Very Good. The text contains an appeal for peace by the President of the Swiss Gutenberg Museum on the eve of World War II. Apparently the first miniature book issued by Norman Forgue. See Bradbury, p. 19 for an account of Norman Forgue's bad memory when it came to dating his miniature books. At one point Forgue believed that Averill, Judge Not a Book by its Cover (1938) to have been the first miniature issued by the Black Cat Press. REFERENCE: Bradbury, 20th Cent. US Miniature Books, No. 1277.
