A Token for Children is Janeway's best-known work; it is a collection of conversion stories of children under Janeway's pastoral care during the seventeenth century, when puritanism and the Church of England were in a struggle that upset English society. The work became an effective tool for evangelism, and was the most widely read book in nurseries in England next to the Bible and the Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. This work remained in print well into the nineteenth century. REFERENCE: Welsh, A Bibliography of Miniature Books, No. 3885.
